The rug was made with sage, pomegranate, cherry blossom, beet root, turmeric, indigo and cobalt.

As an example the shapes that look like "S's" are actually two headed dragons from the Chou dynasty from the 5th century B.C. The rug was made in Pakistan and took about 5-8 months to make by hand.
