DESCRIPTION

This French late 19th century tapestry is typical of the period giving a romantic and light feel that will fit into so many different areas. Tapestries from this period are much small than the large 17th and 18th century pieces as the rooms and homes are smaller compared to the castles and stately homes that earlier tapestries were made for. This lovely piece has at the center two women sitting in front of a water fountain talking and relaxing, this scene is encompassed by a soft and floral setting surrounded by a border set on a burgundy ground.
